Terms and Conditions of Sale These Terms & Conditions of Sale apply to Gadget Central retail outlets and Gadget Central’s Online Shop, OrderCentral which caters for purchase via the internet or via the mail.
Prices
All prices include Australian Goods & Services Tax (GST). At Gadget Central, we make every endeavour to maintain prices, however factors beyond our control (such as changes in foreign currency exchange rates, changes in base material costs etc.) may vary cost and we reserve the right to amend prices accordingly and without notice
Product Availability
At Gadget Central, we are constantly seeking new products and due to the rapid development within the electronics industry some may become obsolete or discontinued. In the event of this happening, we apologise for the inconvenience and where possible will substitute a similar product of equal or better quality.
New Products – Occasionally, due to reasons beyond our control, new products may be delayed from the time they are posted on the website. These will be marked with a New Product – Coming Soon flag and you will not be able to order the product until stock arrives.
Temporarily Out of Stock – There may be times where we cannot supply this item. Mostly, it is only out of stock for a short period of time whilst we rectify the issue or rush more stock in from other stock locations or our supplier. If you want more information on when this item will become available again, please email. ordercentral@gadgetcentral.com.au– include “Enquiry”, the stock code, and the product description in the subject like and we will reply with an estimated time of arrival of the item.
Our Raincheck
If your local Gadget Central store has sold out of a currently advertised line, we will be happy to issue you with a “raincheck”. This “raincheck” can be presented as soon as the stock arrives and you can buy the original item (or its comparable product) as the advertised price – even if the original promotion has ended. “Rainchecks” do not apply to items that have been advertised as “limited”, “discontinued”, “surplus”, or “clearance” ranges
"Change of Mind" Refunds
We are not obligated under any state law to give you a refund for functioning goods, simply because you changed your mind. We do however accept that you can have a second thought about a product, and therefore we will give you a refund. Naturally a few simple rules apply:
1. Goods not subject to change-of-mind refund status are: batteries, all books, PDA’s, computer software.
2. If freight expenses of any kind have been incurred, these are not refundable
3. Goods must be returned in an as-sold condition. This includes packaging and documentation etc.
4. Goods must be returned within 7 days of purchase for street shops or 14 days for OrderCentral purchases, including website.
5. You must retain your sales docket to obtain a refund. Don't lose your receipt!
6. Refunds are in cash (provided cash was originally tendered) up to $75 at store level. Beyond that sum we pay by company cheque. Other refunds will simply be by credit on the spot.
7. For OrderCentral refunds a cheque will be drawn and posted to you.
Warranties
Gadget Central warranty is 3 months from date of purchase, or such longer period as stated on the product. Many products carry one year, two year, five year, or lifetime warranty or may qualify for over-the-counter replacement. If any defect in materials or workmanship in a product sold by Gadget Central is identified and notified to us within the warranty period then we will, at our discretion repair or replace the product. Gadget Central does not accept any liability beyond this for consequential loss. Warranty is subject to us being satisfied that a defect was caused by defective workmanship or materials and was not caused by or was not substantially contributed to by other factors beyond our control, including (but not limited to) defective installation, maintenance, or repair; alterations or modification of the product in a manner not recommended by the manufacturer; or any neglect, misuse or excessive use. The original Sales Docket, Invoice or Cash Receipt, must accompany warranty claims to provide starting date of the warranty period.
Freight Charges Relating to Warranty Items
Warranty repairs or replacements of goods is free of charge however freight charges to and from the service department is required to be paid by the customer.
OrderCentral – Mail Order & Internet Purchases
For orders placed over the internet or via the mail special conditions apply
Goods – Aerosols, flammable, heavy and bulky items cannot be sent by post
Payment – Via credit card (MasterCard, BankCard, Diners, American Express and Visa) cheque or mail order. For customers outside Australia payment via credit card only – MasterCard and Visa.
Minimum Order Value – For all internet order and purchases received via mail, a minimum order value of $20 applies.
International Orders – Please remember you may have to pay customers and importing charges at your end (if applicable). We cannot supply full customs documentation, but all parcels include required customs dockets. Should you require for any reason goods to be returned from outside Australia, it is essential that customs documentation is included. If customs dockets are not included it can be a costly exercise to have the goods cleared by Customs and the customer must pay this charge. Failure to include customs documentation may result in long delays.
Note: Gadget Central cannot accept any responsibility of liability for the suitability of any product for use outside Australia, nor its compliance with local regulations.
Freight – Various freight options and rates are given on the order form. After selecting the freight option that suits you, please clearly mark it and add these additional changes to the total on your order. Goods cannot be delivered to a post office box via road or air courier service.
Missing or Damaged Goods - At Gadget Central, we’ve found road and air transportation equally as reliable. However it must be emphasised that our responsibility for the goods ceases when the goods are handed over to the nominated carrier. Risk on the goods passes to you when the goods leave our warehouse. Our order form allows you to elect to have goods insured against loss in transit at your cost – otherwise, loss of goods in transit is at your own risk. All claims for missing and damaged goods in transit must be lodged with the carrier of local Post Office. If goods have been insured, please contact Gadget Central.
Insurance – If you wish to insure, insurance will cost you 1% of the value of the goods and we are happy to arrange it on your behalf. Insurance will cost A$1 for every A$100 or part thereof eg. If your order is for A$145 the insurance will be A$2. If you do not wish to insure a statement saying “Insurance Declined” will appear on the order. If you post an order don’t forget to consider insurance. We do not automatically issue insurance unless you specify. If you don’t mention insurance, you will NOT be insured.
Out of Stock Items – Items are not back-ordered. Please re-order when goods are in stock.

We are proud of our standing with our Customers and are keen to get any feedback, good and bad, to improve our service, products, stores - in fact any aspect of our business. So please, do not hesitate to contact us.
Privacy Policy
Gadget Central endeavours to protect your privacy by:
- Only collecting information from those we deal with which is necessary for our business to adequately service our customers.
- Except where the law says otherwise, the only external organization having access to this information are approved mailing houses that mails our marketing material to our customers or credit card/credit reference companies for finance approval.
- We do not use any personal information we have collected for any other purposes without seeking the individual’s permission.
- We will take reasonable steps to ensure personal information is accurate and complete by contacting our customers and updating our records.
- Individuals are able to remain anonymous when entering a transaction, by paying cash; they do not have to disclose personal information.
- We will hold the information indefinitely so future marketing material can be sent to the individual. If you do not wish to receive this material in the future, please email the privacyofficer@gadgetcentral.com.au to have your details removed.
- Personal information will not be disclosed to any organization or individual who has not given a commitment to deal with such information in a way, which is consistent with the National Privacy Principles.
- All information is securely held by the organization to prevent tampering, interference by outside sources or unauthorised use by employees or agents of the organization.
- Individuals can access the information that our organization holds on them in accordance with the National Privacy Principles.
- If an individual believes the information we hold on them is not accurate they have the right to apply to the organization to have that information corrected. This should be done in writing to the email address below.
- A Privacy Officer has been appointed to assist all individuals with requests for access to information or concerns about the handling of their information. That person may be contacted via email privacyofficer@gadgetcentral.com.au or you may forward such requests in writing to Gadget Central, 100 Silverwater Road, Silverwater NSW 2128.
